10 Things You Can Do to Support a Person with Difficult Behaviors, David Pitonyak

Dr. Pitonyak emphasizes in his article that understanding a person and their behavior must start with getting to know the person. You will not sit down with a person and complete a checklist that says, "What behaviors do you have that make it harder on your support staff?" and so on. Dr. Pitonyak seeks to understand the whole person, not just the consequence of a behavior or just the concerns of "staff."
