HEALTH AND WELFARE PROGRAMS

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare offers comprehensive services to families and individuals through their Regional Offices. Individuals can find many answers and program descriptions through the Department's website. The site can also be accessed in Spanish. Below you will find a listing of the Regional Centers throughout the state. Also, there is a directory of major assistance programs. Besides seeking out the specific program for more information, there are two ways to get information on programs and/or eligibility:
Idaho CareLine is available to professionals and private citizens
who are seeking information about resources. You can dial 2-1-1
or (800) 926-2588 to reach CareLine staff. CareLine is also online
at http://www.idahocareline.org/. CareLine
offers a searchable database to find many types of services, providers
and agencies across the state.
If you do not have access to the internet, you can contact Idaho CareLine and ask for information on ANY of the programs listed below. They can provide you with referral information to ANY of these programs!
When you are helping an employer or his or her Circle of Support
access services, you can use the "Any Door" program at the Department
of Health and Welfare. This can be done in person at one of the
Department's program offices or through their website at http://www.healthandwelfare.idaho.gov/. "No matter which door you enter for assistance, we are organized
to meet your needs. Our web site is structured similarly to get
you to the programs you are interested in, quickly and efficiently." The website also offers many links to programs offered by other
agencies, advocacy and community resources.

Medicaid and Waiver Options
Medicaid is a federally aided, state-operated and administered program
which provides medical benefits for certain needy or low-income
persons in need of health and medical care. The program is authorized
by Title XIX of the Social Security Act and covers only people who
meet specified eligibility covered, program eligibility, rates of
payment for providers, and method of administering the program.

a graphic representation of all Waivered Services. If you

Adult DD Care Management (Waiver) Program
The goal of the Adult Developmental Disabilities Care Management Program is to assist adults with developmental disabilities to get the right care at the right place at the right cost with the right outcomes.
A variety of services are available to adults (and children)
who have developmental delays and disabilities, and to their families.
These include:
Eligibility;
Services for Adults through Medicaid Care Management;
Service Coordination for Children;
Family Supports;
Skill Development;
Intensive behavioral intervention;
Housing and Living Support;
Infant Toddler Program.

Health and Welfare also provides health education for conditions
such as arthritis, asthma and
diabetes, and access to health care services for
children and adults with special needs.
Medicaid and You: Booklet for Clients
To meet the needs of families in crisis situations, they provide food, cash, and assistance programs to help people get back on the road to self-reliance, including:
Food
Stamps;
Child care;
Child support;
Medicaid;
Home heating;
Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program;
Telephone service.

Mental Health Services
Services through the Adult Mental Health Program are targeted for people 18 and older who have a severe and persistent mental illness. Their mission is to create an environment where these individuals, their families, communities and the Department work together to realize self-reliance, dignity and a healthful quality of life.
There are three categories of services available in Idaho for adults with serious mental illness:
State-provided community mental health services;
State hospital services; and
Community-based and inpatient mental health services in
the private sector.
